Matching the adjacent buildings in height and materials, this project completes the streetscape along this block in the Harsimus Cove Historic District of Jersey City. The six apartments include four two-bedroom two-bath flats on the upper two floors, and two three-bedroom duplexes spanning the first and second floors. The project won approvals from the Historic Preservation Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals in 2016. A five story multi-family residential building within the flood zone is being constructed with wood bearing walls and a pre-engineered floor system. Due to the poor soil conditions a deep foundation system consisting of drilled helical piles were provided to support the loads from above.
